I am from Hawai’i and now live in AZ. ShakAZ Grindz has the best authentic poke. It is equal to the best poke in Hawaii.  They use traditional ingredients that create amazing flavors not like AZ Poke Shops that use fancy seasonings since they cannot create Hawaiian style poke. The Chi Chi Dango Mochi was delicious too. It brought back memories of mochi when I grew up on Maui.  I highly recommend ShakAZ Grindz for authentic and delicious Hawaiian food.

Ren Hirose, Maui braddah now residing in Gilbert, AZ

Wow, jus wen grind one sampo. Unreal the mochi! Mahalo nui aunteh and unko!

Braddah Kainoa Hintze, Deer Valley, Peoria, AZ

A while ago I talked with a hula sister of mine and found out that ShakaAZ Grindz was actually right next to my house. Lucky for me, because this is by far my favorite pokΓ© in the valley. I’d have to say you should try each flavor. They all taste so good I can’t pick which one is best.

A huge bonus is the mochi! Especially the butter mochi. It’s so buttery and soft that it just blows my mind.

If you haven’t had pokΓ© or mochi before, this is where you want to start for sure!

I am happy to say I am able to reunite with a longtime friend of mine from Hilo bradda Jon Taketa here in Arizona….. we reside about 10 minutes from each other which makes it even more comforting…. I also wanted to say, if those of you who haven’t tried his MAUNA KEA poke Mochi which is made by Shakaz Grindz, hit him up cause the bugga is killaz!!! Go try em go!!! πŸ€™πŸ€™πŸ€™

Braddah Lon Teshima, Goodyear, AZ, via Waiakea, Hawaii.

“ The hubby loved your coffee cake so much, I had to ask for more!”

And after she bought more of our grindz:

“Wow you and your wife sure know how to bake and make poke!! I’ve had butter mochi before but NEVER like that and the poke hands down the best in AZ!”

Kim Chi, Peoria

It was A plus! your mochi was excellent! You sure nailed it!  ShakAZ Grindz is the best!”

Michelle Kitagawa, Hilo, Hawaii. My mochi mentor.

“I have to say, the quality of your shoyu poke is outstanding. It’s not over saturated with the ingredients you use, and as a matter of fact it happens to be one of the most well-balanced recipes I’ve ever tasted. Most people put too much shoyu or too much sesame oil, but your measurements are just right…so much so that when you taste it the texture and flavor of the aku/ahi is evident and not drowned out by the aforementioned ingredients. For the locals, “Da buggah stay supah ono and stay broke da mout TO DA MAX!” Shakaz Grindz LLC”

“It was da bomb! Very very good!  Thanks Jon!”

Leilani Lista, West Valley, via Waipahu, HI. Talking about our mochi and poke.

“Ok, so…gotta admit, we had 2 pieces each this morning and would have eaten the whole pack of Pearl City Battah Mochi from Shakaz Grindz!  Super ono and buttery!!!”πŸ‘πŸ€™πŸ½πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹

And

“We had some “Mauna Kea poke” chichi mochi for breakfast this morning!  OMG…they are the softest mochi and super ono…they look like poke, so a great play on the name!  Mahalos for sharing your talents!”πŸ‘πŸ€™πŸ½

Kevin Sonoda, Chandler, AZ, via Pearl City, Hawaii. He don’t know but this mochi partially named because of him.

“Mahalo for the mochi. It was so soft and delicious and made me feel like I was back in Hawaii and definitely satisfied my craving. The chi chi dango mochi was cut into little pieces resembling poke as made for the perfect snack while watching football on a Sunday afternoon.”

Also

Li hing mui and butter mochi don't sound like they would go together... but Shakaz Grindz LLC proved they can! Mahalo Jon Taketa  for this delicious original mochi! Definitely worth the try! πŸ‘πŸ€™πŸŒΊ

Of course I also had to get the Mauna Loa chi chi dango mochi, and try their monsoon pops in this heat! So good on a hot day! Tastes like guri guri in a bradda pop form πŸ˜‹

“We finished 1 whole tray already.   I suppose to bring other tray to a pot luck but not sure if its going to make it there. πŸ˜†  I'm not a huge mochi or pumpkin fan, BUT PUMPKIN MOCHI is da exception lol.   πŸ’œ  Good job foreals πŸ€™πŸ½“
